Its been a while since my last post..i never knew that being a new mother is sooo busy.Feeding,diapering and soothing seems a 24/7 job..my LO now is 2 month and 2 week old.He seems on growth spurt and extremely manja this few days..huh,but all is worth it when he smile at me every morning when we woke up..My LO is on mix feeding,meaning i breastfeed him and combine with formula feeding. the reason is that i had him by caesarean section at 37 week and for some reason mommy's milk doesnt come out till 5 days after he was born.My milk supply seems to build up after i use a breastpump..i have both manual and electrical breastpump.Currently i'm using Philip avent isis manual pump.Pros:
- What i like about this pump is that it is BPA free
- easy to use,easy to assemble
- i can pump anywhere in the house without have to sit next to the socket
- i can use it anywhere when i'm travelling
- i can get 2 o.z in less than 5 minute and i must say it is compareable with the electrical breastpump.
- Tired hand due to pumping repeatedly
The electrical breastpump that i have is the spectra dew 300..initially i want to buy the medela swing but the owner of happy mum suggested me this pump that have the same function and capacity of medela swing with the fraction cost of medela.. believe me,when you have a baby,the cost of all these small things like teats,breastpump,his toys,diapers,swings,activity gym,sterilizer etc can be building up to 10 k in month!!
what i like about the spectra dew 300 is
- it has a cute design,available in blue or pink
- adjustable suction power (maximize milk productionaccording to your comfort suction power level,mine is half )
- automatic suck and release rythm that emulate ur baby natural sucking rythm
- quite operation!!(means u can pump while sitting next 2 ur baby without waking him up)
- easy to assemble and sterilize ( u just need to sterilize the breastshield and bottle only)
- dual pumping is available,however you have to buy the kit yourself though
- heavy
- i have to sit next to the power supply ugh
- i cannot bring it to travel with me anywhere because it uses electricity only
another thing that is essential to have is the steam sterilizer to sterilize your breastpump,bottles and etc.i'm using avent steam sterilizer.i want the iQ steam sterelizer but its so expensive and i dont think they have it in malaysia..if you want it u have to buy it in the UK or US,because mostly that i saw in Malaysia is the steam sterilizer like this one below,both is BPA free.
well i guess thats my review for now.my baby has wake up and due for his feed.Next i'll be doing a review on cloth diaper between QQ baby minky,Coolababy bamboo and rumperooz.Ciao..
