Breastpump Review

Its been a while since my last post..i never knew that being a new mother is sooo busy.Feeding,diapering and soothing seems a 24/7 job..my LO now is 2 month and 2 week old.He seems on growth spurt and extremely manja this few days..huh,but all is worth it when he smile at me every morning when we woke up..My LO is on mix feeding,meaning i breastfeed him and combine with formula feeding. the reason is that i had him by caesarean section at 37 week and for some reason mommy's milk doesnt come out till 5 days after he was born.My milk supply seems to build up after i use a breastpump..i have both manual and electrical breastpump.Currently i'm using Philip avent isis manual pump.

Pros:

• What i like about this pump is that it is BPA free
• easy to use,easy to assemble
• i can pump anywhere in the house without have to sit next to the socket
• i can use it anywhere when i'm travelling
• i can get 2 o.z in less than 5 minute and i must say it is compareable with the electrical breastpump.

Cons:

• Tired hand due to pumping repeatedly

The electrical breastpump that i have is the spectra dew 300..initially i want to buy the medela swing but the owner of happy mum suggested me this pump that have the same function and capacity of medela swing with the fraction cost of medela.. believe me,when you have a baby,the cost of all these small things like teats,breastpump,his toys,diapers,swings,activity gym,sterilizer etc can be building up to 10 k in month!!

what i like about the spectra dew 300 is

• it has a cute design,available in blue or pink
• adjustable suction power (maximize milk productionaccording to your comfort suction power level,mine is half )
• automatic suck and release rythm that emulate ur baby natural sucking rythm
• quite operation!!(means u can pump while sitting next 2 ur baby without waking him up)
• easy to assemble and sterilize ( u just need to sterilize the breastshield and bottle only)
• dual pumping is available,however you have to buy the kit yourself though

what i dont like about it is

• heavy 
• i have to sit next to the power supply  ugh
• i cannot bring it to travel with me anywhere because it uses electricity only

personally i think,if you want to pump regularly,go for the electrical breastpump,if occasionally go for the avent isis.
another thing that is essential to have is the steam sterilizer to sterilize your breastpump,bottles and etc.i'm using avent steam sterilizer.i want the iQ steam sterelizer but its so expensive and i dont think they have it in malaysia..if you want it u have to buy it in the UK or US,because mostly that i saw in Malaysia is the steam sterilizer like this one below,both is BPA free.
















well i guess thats my review for now.my baby has wake up and due for his feed.Next i'll be doing a review on cloth diaper between QQ baby minky,Coolababy bamboo and rumperooz.Ciao..

oohh...stray cats..

i bet most of my friends know that i love cats..i have 7 of them at my house..tp since i'm pregnant now,i hv to leave them at mum'c house coz cat litter is harmful to pregnant women..yep,their poo can cause miscarriage..sigh huh..
recently i just cant help it to notice there's a single mum cat with her 4 kitty roaming around at my backyard looking 4 food..she's not that cute..just an ordinary stray cat..but i just hv the soft spot for them..so i started 2 feed them everyday,and everythime i feed them,she'll purring and gesel2 her body at my leg (signs of gratitude i guess..hehe)..unfortunately,i contracted the nasty ringworm fungi from her..yes i'm infected with ringworm from the poor stray cat.ugh..gosh..wonder wat my doc will say tomorrow since i'm going to see her for my antenatal review..geez..i wonder

Pregnancy Diary??

Hmm..is it too late for me to start a pregnancy diary?haha..i'm kinda lazy to kept a diary..even so,i think its kinda important to start one..to document my pregnancy experience..then to document my baby's developmental milestone..etc..

So far..my pregnancy experience seems to be a joyous one..as i dont really have all those pregnancy associated vomitting and nauseous..seems dat my mum also doesnt hv those problems also when she's pregnant wit us all,well i guess its hereditary then,thanks 2 the good gene hehe :)

I'm going to be 30 weeks tomorrow and my baby is dancing in my tummy always..seems that he's excited to come out,hehe..I'm thinking of having a caesarean section as i dont have the confidence for natural birth..well,my O&G Dr tell me that my baby is 1.1kg when he's in 27th week which was kinda big and that somehow influenced me to get a LSCS..


Well,i'm going for my nxt appt this thursday,hope that everything is ok during that time..thinking of discussing my birthplan wit my Dr during the appt..
Gosh,i'm kinda hungry now,i've been craving 4 avocado recently 4 unknown reason..going to try this avocado smootie recipe i found in the internet..

My Bub's Stash

Aaah..diapers..dont we just love them??there are so cute with so many colors and prints..in case anyone that does read this blog of mine,these are my soon to be born baby's diapers..these are known as cloth diapers..
yep..i bet all of us know what a traditional diaper is right?those white cottonny cloth that need to be fold into a specific shape then fastened with safety pin..these are the mordernized version of it..its a mix of disposable diapers (think of Pampers..huggies..mamy poko etc)..the best part of these diaper is they can be reusable and unlike disposable diaper,they dont contain substances that harmful for the baby i.e dioxin that usually contain in chlorine bleached paper pulp (e.g baby diaper..sanitary pads..toilet paper etc)..gosh..i never know bout this until i'm bout to have a baby..i mean,baby skins is so sensitive,maybe if we the elders skins is sudah alanut,so the toxin wont pass easily..but baby skin??

back to cloth diaper..there are sure many advantages that i found out..but the most important i think is it help cut down the cost haha..since everything in Malaysia these day prices is hiking up more than ever..then,its environmental friendly..less baby diaper rash cuz these material is very soft & breathable. here is a site that explain the advantages

where to buy these cloth diaper??
well i bought them all online..they do have them in Sabah..just go to the maternity shop at KK Specialist centre,they have it there..but i choose to buy online cuz its cheaper (ugh..i'm kinda stingy haha)and there are more brand to choose from and most important is its cheaper than if u buy it at any store in Sabah.

well..i guess that wat i'm thinking right now..i'm watching American idol as i blog this..talking bout multitasking huh..hmm going for my next ultrasound appoinment soon next week..hope that everything goes well..

Its Blue!!

i'm so excited during my ulrasound scan yesterday at Klinik Dr Felice..its confirmed,my lil bub is a boy.hehe and my hubby is very2 happy knowing that he's going to have his mini me soon..both of us cant wait to welcome lil Jayden to our home soon :)

22 weeks and counting..

hmm..today i'm 22 weeks and 6 days pregnant..huh..still a long way to go and my tummy looks like its going to explode soon..kinda missed my prenatal cloths as now i can only fit into size L cloths!!omg! i never a size L before this..last nite also i had my 1st leg cramp while sleeping..my,,its kinda painful..luckily had it only for a brief secs

i went to my KKIA appt on last wed,n i gain another 2 kg..my god..it means dat i gain an average 1kg per week!!!i cannot imagine how big i am going to be by the time i'm fully term..
i'm looking forward for my next appt with Dr Felice nxt week..i hope this time we can see our baby gender..actually i dont really mind if he's a boy or girl..but tom is really hopping for a boy..

i'm kinda busy at the moment searching for breastpump..yep,thinking of breastfeeding my baby at least until he's 6 month old..geez..i saw a clip in youtube and there this baby sucking vigorously on his mom's breast..kinda scared me though for a while..i'm thinking of buying medela swing but its kinda expensive..hmm
